King Of Silver

And the Man he used to drink the water
And the water made him live
For the water loved the Man
And the Man he used to praise the water

And the Man used to breathe the air
And the air made him live
For the air loved the Man
And the Man used to praise the air

And the Man used to see the light
And the Sun made him live
For the Sun loved the man
And the Man used to praise the Sun

And the Man used to eat the fruit
And the Earth made him live
For the Earth loved the man
And the Man used to praise the Earth

There came the King, all dressed in silver
He shouted « Praise me, for I am God », but he knew he wasn’t
And God used to hate him
The Man used to worship the King
And set about forgetting God, the water, the air, the Sun
And the Earth

Chorus
« Here I am, I’m the man
I fear nothing
For my King shelters me
And I live
»

But God was sad, shedding tears
So the water of the Sea said to the Wind
Who was caressing her:
« Let us see the Sun, we have to help God »
So the Sun said to the Earth, his sister:
« God’s grieved, we must avenge him »

Chorus

The King of silver ate and laughed
For he knew that the Man could not dispense with him
The thousand servants of his palace
Were blind and deaf to the call of the Earth
« I can live without you », said one of them
« I don’t need your light, here is the feast » , said another
And he started to dance…

And the Earth felt helpless

Chorus

God saw how sad the Earth was, and said :
« Shake your back, for it’s all black and blue »
Then the Wind shook the mountains
And the Sea overflowed into the palace
And the Sun cauterised the King of silver…

But the Man was sad
So the Earth said
« I am here and I love you »
And the Man opened his eyes
And saw the daylight
And the Man gazed at the Sun
And bathed in its splendor
Breathed the air
Drank the water
And cherished the Earth.
