Please read the whole description!On offer is a Chinese Duan Ink Stone. It is approximately 15 cm long, 12 cm wide and 4.5 cm tall at the widest points. It weighs a decent 1.69 KG. Carved on the top surface in the traditional manner Duan Ink stones are known for. It may be antique, but I am not sure (as per report). It comes with a later age custom made wooden case, a certificate bearing a registration number (2262), and a protective/storage cloth. All housed in a custom made Japanese storage box. Please note that I cannot verify the validity of the certificate. Recently sourced from very reputable Japanese eBay power seller. A nice item for actual use or being part of a collection of similar items. Condition Report: The ink stone is in excellent condition with no issues. There are no signs of prior use, so this is most likely in NOS condition. I have taken photos with different lighting conditions, so I can clearly depict the true colour of the ink stone. Remarks: I have priced this item as if it is brand new. No antique value taken into account. A quick search will reveal that Duan ink stones of about 500 grams sell for my asking price… If proven antique, then the fair value will be waaaaaaaaaaaay over £1K!
